He grew up in the small town of McKean, Pennsylvania in a typical middle class family with 2 older brothers. James graduated from West Virginia University where he competed in both collegiate track and cross country while earning a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology. He was the 4th place American finisher in the Boston Marathon in 2003 and the 6th American finisher in the 2005 Chicago Marathon. Running has relocated him to Rochester, Michigan where at 26 he wrote his book, entitled Running at the Speed of Life (Bentleys, Bar Codes & Blueberry Muffins). |
